Quoc Bang Ho

Associate professor

Biography and Research interests

Dr Ho is currently Director of Air Pollution and Climate Change Research Center. He holds his Master and Ph.D. in Environmental Science (focusing on Air Emission inventories, meteorology and air quality modelling fields) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland during 2003-2010. In addition, he also works as air quality expert for Clean Air Asia (CAA); National Consultant and Regional consultant on Air quality for German Technical Cooperation (GIZ), ADB, SNV, JICA, etc. He is also leader of many climate change projects namely SPI-NAMA, funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). His research focuses on air emission inventory, air quality modeling, impact of air pollution on human health, climate change policy, climate change action plan development for many provinces in Vietnam. He also develops policy related to air pollution and climate change, for example ”The technical regulation for air emission inventory in Urea sector in Vietnam”for the Ministry of Natural resources and Environment Vietnam and the policy related to climate change mitigation for Ho Chi Minh City Government “Carbon Reporting System for Building and Industry sectors for HCMC”funded by JICA (2018-2019), etc. He is project leader of 59 projects, with total grants more than 1,200,000 USD on air quality, climate change and public health. He has published 46 international  journal papers, 53 conference papers (in conferences/workshops)

Awards and Recognition: 2012-2020 Excellence researcher for international publication of Vietnam National University in HCMC, Vietnam; 2011, 2013 Outstanding Youth Researcher of VNU-HCM;

Research Supervision: supervisor: 2 PhDs (on-going) and 30 Masters
