BioNanoPhotonics:

NanoBioPhotonics (NBP) group focuses on applying nanophotonics materials in the biology, medicine, and environmental fields. Our work covers two main areas: material development and optical instrumentation development.
For more than fifty years, we have synthesis gold and silver nanoparticles of different sizes (few to over one hundred nanometers), shapes (sphere, rod, leaf, ...) on different substrates (glass, silicon wafer, water, paper, ...). Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) effect and fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) effect of our metal nanoparticle were used to investigate the ability to detect trace material in food, fruit, environment [1]. Cancer cell killing by using nanoparticles has also been studied [2], [3]. Many patents have been approved.
In recent years, we have also developed optical devices such as portable Raman, super-resolution microscope based on single-molecule localization principle, scanning narrow bandwidth dye lasers [4] for research and application purposes.
